ANGIE 5.jpg

Angie Parkins - Textile Artist

Angie is an "upcyclist", having discovered the pleasure of upcycling (taking something old and used and making it something new and, better) by repurposing wool sweaters, leather, tee-shirts and fabric clothes. Thrift store rejects are her treasures, just waiting to be reinvented into something new, and in turn diverting waste and lessening the environmental impact on our earth. Hence the name "Tread Lightly".

Angie makes mittens; bags, fingerless "texting" mittens; neck warmers; headbands and hats; coffee cozies; infinity scarves, brooches (from sweaters and the leftover zippers); cushions, slippers, and much more.

Karen Thomas - Glass and Grind Mosaics

Karen is a self-taught mosaic artist.  While living in Spain she was fascinated by the detail and intricacy of mosaics but it all started with her adoration for rocks and minerals that she had been collecting most of her life. Karen always enjoyed the process of grinding and polishing them and began creating mosaics using rocks, glass and other materials. She enjoyed challenging herself by incorporating small things to catch the eye. The diverse designs of her mosaics, mobiles and chimes has become today's Glass and Grind Mosaics.
